[wc_accordion_section title=\”Who We Are\”]

We at Energy Alabama work to speed up Alabama’s transition from our current energy, nonrenewable use patterns, to sustainable energy sources.  We have been advocating for clean energy in Alabama since 2014.

We base our work on two things: education and advocacy. We educate people of all ages on what it means to live sustainably. We advocate for better policies regarding sustainability, whether that\’s by working with (or, when needed, against) specific cities, counties, utilities, or even the government of Alabama itself.

Additionally, we aren\’t some big, unknowable corporation with an over-paid senior staff. We\’re a nonprofit, membership-based organization. We get funding through grants and donations, but one of the most important is through membership. Speaking of membership…

Should you be magnanimous enough to choose to become a member, then you should know that there are three types of membership: individual, corporate, and public agency. Once you have chosen a type of membership, then you may have to decide what payment plan you desire. With the public agency membership, the only tier available is $250/year.

Individual and corporate membership each have multiple tiers from which you have to decide. The higher the tier, the more perks you unlock. If you cannot/do not want to choose a payment plan, we would appreciate if you gave a one-time, no-strings-attached donation of an amount that you choose. Or, you can also grab something from our super cool store. If you cannot/do not want to do either of those, we also encourage you to be join us as a volunteer. Don\’t worry, we\’ll walk you through ways that you can help us and Alabama.
