John Dodd

John Dodd serves as Policy Manager for Energy Alabama. John is a dedicated advocate for public service with a belief in the profound impact of government on our lives. Graduating from the University of Alabama in 2022 with degrees in Political Science and Public Relations, John’s career has been marked by a commitment to improving policies at all levels of governance. John is currently finishing up his final semester of graduate school as he is getting his master’s in public administration (MPA).

With a diverse background in public administration, John previously served as a member of the operations team for the House Democratic Caucus under the leadership of Democratic Caucus Chairman, Rep. Hakeem Jefferies. His experience extends further, having held roles such as Southwest Field Director for Stacey Abrams during her 2022 gubernatorial election and positions within the administrations of Mayor Randall Woodfin of Birmingham and Mayor Walt Maddox of Tuscaloosa.

It was through these experiences that John developed a deep affection for his home state of Alabama, particularly in the realm of local governance. His work on the ground fostered a passion for creating a better and safer tomorrow for all Alabamians.

Residing in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, John balances his professional pursuits with his personal interests. An avid hiker and enthusiast of political discourse, world history, and NFL football, John proudly supports the Tennessee Titans and hopes they can win a Super Bowl in his lifetime.
