John Dodd serves as Policy Manager for Energy Alabama. John is committed to strengthening communities through practical solutions and sound policy. A graduate of the University of Alabama with degrees in Political Science and Public Relations (2022), he is completing his master’s in Public Administration (MPA), focusing on effective governance and accountability.
John’s background spans a variety of roles in government and public service, where he gained hands-on experience in operations, field work, and local administration. He has worked alongside leaders at the local, state, and national level, helping connect citizens with their government and supporting efforts to improve efficiency, transparency, and responsiveness.
These experiences deepened John’s appreciation for his home state of Alabama, particularly the importance of strong local leadership and practical problem-solving. His work reflects a commitment to creating opportunities, supporting growth, and ensuring a better tomorrow for Alabamians.
Based in Birmingham, John enjoys the outdoors, history, and football. He is an avid hiker and a lifelong fan of the Tennessee Titans, holding out hope to see them win a Super Bowl in his lifetime.
